D. Rajeev Sibal

An experienced macro strategist, economist, and investor with nearly 20 years working in financial services and advisory.  After studying engineering, economics, and politics at Georgia Tech, I began my career as an investment banker in the US. A PhD at the London School of Economics then took me to London.  During this time, I also spent a year as a visiting scholar at Delhi University and FGV in Sao Paulo. To pay the bills, I worked in strategy consulting, advising mid-cap companies on growth and go-to-market strategy.  

Nearing 15 years working in financial markets after my PhD, I am currently a Managing Director and the Senior Global Economist at Morgan Stanley, where I work with the firm's Chief Economist and Head of Macro, Seth Carpenter.  Our team regularly publishes views on global market trends, and I interact with clients around the world. Prior to MS, I spent about a decade on the buy side. First as a macro strategist and economist for the US-based fund Sculptor Capital, albeit in their London office. I then moved to be a risk taker at Millennium, returning to my investment banking roots through fundamental, bottom-up analysis of investment opportunities. I worked in both Millennium's London and Dubai offices.
